Gary Richard Burke Sr., 73, of Bentonville, Virginia passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 2 PM at Panorama Memorial Gardens, 4917 Strasburg Road, Strasburg with Sammy Campbell officiating.
Mr. Burke was born on April 22, 1953 in Woodstock, Virginia to the late Vincent and Arbutus Donovan Burke. He was also preceded in death by his son, Kevin Wayne Burke; brother, Kenneth Burke and sister, Bonnie Cain. He owned and operated Gary Burke Home Improvements and was a Class A Contractor working for many years all over the Front Royal area.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Donna Kay Burke; two sons, Gary “Richard” Burke Jr. (Carrie) and Daniel Wayne Burke; daughter, Amy Day (Jeremy); brother, Vincent Burke Jr. (Denise); seven grandchildren, Dakota Burke, Hunter Burke, Ryan Burke, Grace Burke, Mya Day, Ava Burke and Kaylee Burke and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joey Burke, Mike Henry, Dale Sealock, Chad Costello, Chris Loughry and Larry Fox.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal.
Following the service will be a time for food and fellowship at the North Warren Volunteer Fire Station.

I have known Gary and Donna since 1978.We were neighbors. Great friend.Craftsman when it came to carpenter work.I will miss our conversations when he came to have his trucks inspected and seviced.
