To All the Family Members of Hazel Griggs: Your Mom, Grand Mother and, Sister was a “VERY SPECIAL” Lady. We first met when my husband, daughter and I moved to Front Royal and she was the first one from Skyline Baptist Church to bring us a meal so I wouldn’t have to cook! From that time on she became a friend.

Hazel and I worked in the church library; participated in Vacation Bible School registering the kids; and she was such a vital part of the church’s Live Nativity. These were just a few of the things I know that Hazel did to serve the Lord that she loved.

While we will miss her here on earth, we rejoice that she is now with the Lord. We know that we will some day be reunited with her. I look forward to seeing her smile when we meet again. Our prayers are with you at this time of loss, but we pray that you will have peace knowing that the Lord called her home and released her from her earthly ills.

Hazel believed God’s promise of John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that who so ever believeth on Him should not perish but have everlasting life. That’s what she has now.

We will miss her. She was unusually strong and persistent, especially when facing a challenge. One of my favorite memories with her was eating cinnamon toast together in Virginia Beach, then going to Kid’s Cove, a big playground. Her faith ran deep, and it’s a comfort to know that she went home to the Lord. We look forward to the day when he will wipe away every tear from our eyes, and there will be no more death or pain (Revelation 21:4).

    Dear Family
I am saddened to learn of your mother’s passing. Hazel was a very Special Lady , I felt honored to have known her and call her my friend and Sister in Christ. We worshiped together and worked for our Lord in various ways. Her upbeat attitude was always an inspiration . She loved her family with a passion and loved her Lord with a deep devotion.
We will all meet in Glory one day and what a day that will be.

I was saddened to hear of Hazel’s passing today. I knew her from way, way back; in Montana. I was a pre-school kid when she baby sat me. My parents ran a country store not far from where Hazel lived and she occasionally came and took care of me. I especially remember one time how she read to me in the evening.
My memories of Hazel are how kind and gentle she was and how easily she smiled.
My Dad’s sister married her brother Virgil and so my association with the McCready family has continued through the years and my admiration of their family has only grown over all the years I have known them.
May the fond memories of your Mom eventually help ease the pain of your loss.
    Sincerely,
    Darlene Anderson

    Aunt Hazel-
What a fun and adventurous person. Who could ride a horse, plant a plant, sew anything, and bake a cake.
I’ll miss you and am so happy we got to reunite in 2017 in Montana and hear stories of your childhood. I know your Spirit is in a great place and may you be enjoying peace and contentment.

Love, Doris McCready West Sacramento California
