Ishmael Fred Vazquez, Jr., 80, of Linden, VA died on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Riverton United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Marc Roberson. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Vazquez was born June 7, 1937 in Harlingen, TX, son of the late Ishmael Fred Vazquez, Sr. and Mercedes Garza Vazquez. He was a graduate of Texas Christian University and served as Captain with the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Vazquez retired as President and CEO of International Global Traders. He was a member of Riverton United Methodist Church. Mr. Vazquez was married to the late Natividad Herminda “Natty” Vazquez.
Surviving are three children Ishmael Fred Vazquez, III of Odenton, MD, Jason Lee Vazquez of Linden, VA and Desiree Lisette Cripps of Linden, VA; two brothers Roger Vazquez of Newnan, GA and Art Vazquez of San Antonio, TX; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601 or to Riverton UMC, 55 East Strasburg Rd., Front Royal, VA 22630.

I knew Mr. Vazquez for but two short years. He was a business asociate. Although I never met him personally, he was easily one of the most personable, cordial and courteous gentleman with whom I had the pleasure working with. I got to know just a little. His Faith and his family were trophies in his life. I will surely miss him. His family might be grateful to God, that he was so long in their lives.

I am so sorry for your loss. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. I lived next door to him every since he came to Linden. I know that i am thankful that I got to know him.
