James I. “Jim” “Bubba” Benjamin Jr
., 84, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation in Winchester, Virginia.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 from 6 to 8 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal.
Mr. Benjamin was born on March 2, 1942 in Glenn Dale, Maryland to the late James Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Carroll Benjamin. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Beverly M. Benjamin; two sons, James P. Benjamin and Kevin M. Benjamin; brother, John Benjamin and two sisters, Judith Salazaar and Joanne Stebbins. He retired from the United States Postal Service and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He volunteered for C-Cap in Front Royal for the last eleven years and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Survivors include his two sons, Keith M. Benjamin (his late wife, Cherri) and Kenneth W. Benjamin (Patricia); daughter, Angela B. Ramsey (Robert); two brothers, Joseph Benjamin and Jeremiah Benjamin; three sisters, Jean Ridley, Joyce Reedy and Janice Basch; sister-in-law, Marie Benjamin; five grandchildren; one great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to C-Cap, 400 Kendrick Lane, Front Royal, Virginia 22630.
Jim was such a good and friendly guy who will surely be missed!
Jim was my cousin, and although we lost close communication in recent years, I will always remember him fondly as a kind older one who let us “littles” have our silly fun.

My cousin , Jim – closest in age to me. I spent many happy childhood visits to Glenn Dale, visiting my Aunt Bessie’s family. Then the family moved to Brentwood/Mt. Rainier at the same time that Bernard and I did and our daughter was 6 months old. Lots of happy days visiting with Aunt, Uncle and Benjamin cousins. Jim’s family also attended the same parish church. Together we enjoyed watching our young grow up.
May Jim know eternal joy in the presence of Our Lord. My heartfelt sympathy to all the family.

Jim had the most positive attitude and caring nature for all he encountered.
I will miss morning “Wordle” puzzles with him. Rest well my friend.
Jim and I go way back to St. James Church in Mt. Rainier, Md where we lived and raised our kids. He and Beverly were great parents to their large family and were very active in CYO and Teen Cub ministries. Jim was stern but kind with the kids and he was well liked by all. He will be missed. Later Jim’s sister Janice and my son Paul (now deceased) got married at St James Church so the Benjamin’s are like family. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
