James I. “Jim” “Bubba” Benjamin Jr., 84, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation in Winchester, Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 from 6 to 8 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal.

Mr. Benjamin was born on March 2, 1942 in Glenn Dale, Maryland to the late James Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Carroll Benjamin.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Beverly M. Benjamin; two sons, James P. Benjamin and Kevin M. Benjamin; brother, John Benjamin and two sisters, Judith Salazaar and Joanne Stebbins.  He retired from the United States Postal Service and was a veteran of the United States Navy.  He volunteered for C-Cap in Front Royal for the last eleven years and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Survivors include his two sons, Keith M. Benjamin (his late wife, Cherri) and Kenneth W. Benjamin (Patricia); daughter, Angela B. Ramsey (Robert); two brothers, Joseph Benjamin and Jeremiah Benjamin; three sisters, Jean Ridley, Joyce Reedy and Janice Basch; sister-in-law, Marie Benjamin; five grandchildren; one great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
