John DeMastes, 53 of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away peacefully at his home on February 5, 2026.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
John was born April 7, 1972 in Pennsylvania, son of Richard “Dick” DeMastes and the late Edna Jane DeMastes.
John was a huge Cowboys fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing poker. He was a good husband, father, pap, and friend to many and will be greatly missed.
Surviving, along with his father, is his wife, Laurie DeMastes; two children, Valerie Webb of Florida and David “Boo” Webb of Winchester; four grandchildren, Levi Corathers, Kaleb Shaw, and Jaxen and Jaden Webb; four great-grandchildren, Jaxxon, Daisy, Arthur and Jett Corathers; two brothers, David Courtney and Brian DeMastes, both of West Virginia; and a sister, Kate Stalnker of West Virginia.

I was blessed to know John early on at Phoenix Development and later on in life as we worked together in many different situations. No job was to small or to big, he gave it his all. One hell of an operator and an even better friend. Rest in peace John you will never be forgotten “Boss”
