John Dudley Williams, Sr.

John Dudley Williams, Sr., 90 of Front Royal, VA, died on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Heritage Hall.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 1, at 1:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Revs. Bobby and Diann Whetzel. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens with military honors.

Mr. Williams was born October 6, 1925 in Chester Gap, VA, son Herbert and Laura Henry Williams. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. Mr. Williams was the owner of the John Marshall Market and was a member of Front Royal Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are his wife Ruby Mae Williams of Front Royal; one daughter Linda Airhart and husband David of Front Royal; one son John D. “Sonny” Williams, Jr. and wife Janet of Front Royal; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Connie Sargent and a grandson Jason Williams.

Pallbearers will be Nelson Longerbeam, Willie Reynolds, Kenny Williams, Donald Hazelette, Bob Skillman, and Bill Fix.

Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Terry, Jimmy Williams, Howard Matthews, Christopher Jenkins, Michael Jenkins, and Carlos Schooler.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 31, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
