John Robert “Jack” Thielen, 73, of Front Royal, VA died on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at his home.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 23, at 1:30 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal, VA conducted by Rev. Stanley Krempa. Inurnment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends after the service until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Thielen was born November 3, 1941 in Deshler, OH son of the late John Bernard Thielen and Irene Riehl Thielen. He retired as a guidance counselor and school teacher from Warren County High School in Front Royal. He enjoyed gardening and loved all animals.

Surviving are one son Jason Thielen and his wife Kathleen McCabe of Los Angeles, CA; two grandchildren Satori and Brandon; his companion Linda Hassinger; and one sister June Thielen.
