Johnny “John” Brian Greenway, 72, of Delaplane, Virginia passed away on July 7, 2026.
John was born May 4, 1954 in Honolulu, Hawaii to the late Mary T. Wadsworth and John E. Greenway.
John was a loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He is preceded in death by his mother Mary T. Wadsworth and his sister Terry L. Kisner. John is survived by his sons Scott Greenway (Cecilia), and Hunter Greenway; grandchildren Scarlett, Ruben, and Mia Greenway; sisters Glenda Licausi and Denise All; nieces, nephews, and many more relatives and friends.
After graduating from Fairfax High School, John joined the Marines. After serving his time in the military, John returned to his hometown of Fairfax, VA and started his career as a business owner of Greenway Plumbing & Heating, which he continued to operate until his passing.
John will be remembered for his kindness, always offering to lend a hand, and his love for his family and friends. John never met a stranger as he would talk to anyone and everyone wherever he went. His favorite pastime was spending time at Chesapeake Beach. He loved nothing more than going to the beach and enjoying a crab feast. He loved getting together with family and friends and always enjoyed the great meals that went with it. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A funeral service celebrating John’s life will be held on August 3, 2026, receiving visitors at 11:00 a.m. with the service starting at noon with Pastor Brad Fletcher officiating at Maddox Funeral Home at 105 W Main Street, Front Royal, VA 22630, with burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Stonewall Memory Gardens at 12004 Lee Highway, Manassas, VA 20109.

What a nice service today for a man who walked with the Lord. We salute you sir. And, thank you for your service !
