Joseph LauderJoseph Edward Lauder, 71, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at his home.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal with Pastor Steven Guizar officiating. Burial to follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Joe was born September 26, 1944 in Warren County, Virginia to Carson Crawford (deceased) and Gloria Romaine Lauder.

Surviving along with his mom is his loving wife of 41 years, Karen; brother, Carson Lauder and wife Roberta; three daughters, Michele Lauder Robinson and Mark, Samantha Lauder and Curtis, April Lauder and her fiancé Bruce Murphy; two sons, Joshua Lauder and his wife Jenny, Jacob Lauder and his wife Michelle; 15 grandchildren, Leslie, Jacob, Johnny, Cassie, Keegan, Tara, Travis, Tyler, Carrie, Alden, Mackenzie, Christina, Cheyenne, Chase and Christa; four great grandchildren, Noah, Tucker, Sawyer and Gabriel.

He is also survived by a daughter and son from a previous marriage, Tammy Roush and Timothy Lauder and grandchildren, Lacey, Ian and Jamison all of Ohio.

Along with his father, Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Payne, father and mother in law, James V. and Refa F. Blakely and grandchild, Charis.

He was a 1963 graduate of Warren County High School where he played basketball, football and was one of Warren County’s star pitchers. He also played for the American Legion Post 53 baseball team and coached little league.

Joe was a loving husband, dad and son. His family was the joy of his life. He enjoyed writing, taking pictures and since he was an avid sports player himself, he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 7 to 9 PM at Maddox Funeral Home. Following the funeral there will be a gathering at Front Royal Church of the Nazarene.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Lauder, Jacob Lauder, Mark McCaffrey, Bruce Murphy, Curtis Ray, Johnny Robinson, Keegan Lauder, Tyler Barisciano, Alden Murphy and Travis Custer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Murphy, Harry Richardson, Harry Reed, Roger Cunningham, Carson Lauder, Giles Darr and Hank Blakely.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
