Julia Cecil Jackson

Affectionately known as “Grandma June” “JuJu” ”CeeCee” “LuLu” and “Snookum,” Julia Cecil Jackson of Front Royal, Virginia passed away peacefully on Thursday, October, 23, 2025 in the comfort of her home.

A homegoing service will be held for Julia at 1 P.M. on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W Main Street in Front Royal, VA. Officiants will be Rev. Alfred Woods and Rev. Brevetta Jordan. The family invites friends to visit one hour prior to the service.

Julia was born on October 30, 1923 in Front Royal, Virginia to the late Richard W. and Julia U. Fitzhugh. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Jackson; her children, Robert W. Jackson, and Gay Camille Jackson; and her siblings, Minerva Ward, Florence Jett, Mildred Giles, Richard W. Fitzhugh Sr., and Charles L. Fitzhugh Sr.

Surviving Julia is her daughter, Aparna “Pam” Jackson; her grandchildren, Troy Frye (Cena), Lashanya Jackson, and Lashawnda Roberts; her 15 great- grandchildren; her 7 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Julia was a faithful member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, and was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #53. She loved to cook and bake, and her warmth and laughter filled every room she entered.

    My heart goes out to you Pam and the Family. Words cannot express how sorry I am to hear of the loss of Mrs. Julia. I have only happy memories of her and our times all together when visiting. She will be truly missed. My Very Sincere Condolence.
