Larry H. Clark, 73, went to be with the Lord on July 5, 2017.

He was born on July 4, 1944 in Rappahannock County, Virginia.

He began his plumbing and electrical trade with Robert Clatterbuck in Rappahannock and then moved on to work for the plumbing contractor Federline, who changed their name to Master, until he retired.

He had to retire early due to multiple heart issues, but this never kept him down. He took up the game of golf in his mid 50’s and discovered he was pretty good at it. He loved the game and all the guys at Front Royal Country Club. He was also an excellent horseshoe pitcher. The outdoors were very important to him, enjoying hunting and fishing trips with his buddies.

Larry was full of life and loved living. You could always tell when he was in the building. His distinctive loud laugh could be easily recognized across the room. He certainly will be missed by many and if he could leave one phrase behind for everyone it would be “never give up”.

Larry is survived by his mother, Frances Hudson; son, Gary Clark “CLERB” and his wife Kim; granddaughter, whom he absolutely adored, Grace Clark; sister, Madeline Herndon; half-brother, Barry Hudson; half-sister, Kathy Hudson and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Butler Clark, son, Larry Clark “LERBUS” and most recently, his dog, Taffi, who he sometimes called Tater. What a wonderful reunion it will be.

Larry will surely be missed by his good friends at the Moose Lodge 829. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 11 AM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal with Sammy Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Rockland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 10, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Atkins, Donnie Atkins, Johnny Atkins, Tony Green, Duane Murphy and Wayne Hoffman.
