Leisa Wood, 65, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
Leisa was born on March 24, 1961, in Front Royal, Virginia, to the late Leonard “Red” Wood and Imogene Wood.
She graduated from Warren County High School in 1981 and began her career as a seamstress and interior decorator. She later owned and operated Stonehouse Interiors alongside her great friend, the late Ron Hughes.
Although Leisa never married, she and her significant other, Chuckie Henry, shared 51 wonderful years together. Throughout their life together, they built a home filled with love, family, friendship, and countless cherished memories.
Leisa was loving, kind, and generous to everyone she met. Her home was always open, and everyone was welcome at her house. She was a fierce card player, loved to dance, and treasured every moment she could spend with her grandchildren. Above all, Leisa loved her family and friends deeply and will be remembered for the warmth, laughter, and love she brought into the lives of so many.
She is survived by her significant other of 51 years, Chuckie Henry; her son, Colt Wood (Amanda Jenkins); her beloved grandchildren, Colby Wood and Kira Wood; her brother, Petie Wood; her sisters, Donna Gardner and Sandra Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, Leonard “Red” and Imogene Wood, Leisa was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles, Roy, Wayne, James “Jimmy,” and Kenneth “Popeye” Wood; her sisters, Shelby Henry, Sarah “Perky” Wood, and Judy Lillard; and her niece and best friend, Tina Cooke.
Pallbearers will be Noah Mahoney, Dwayne Jenkins, Rick Shook, Gary Funk, Terry Jenkins and Sammy Campbell.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, September 24, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Bentonville Baptist Church Cemetery
Leisa will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
