Lyle Fenwick Cameron, Jr.

Lyle Fenwick Cameron, Jr., age 75 of Strasburg, VA, passed away on November 14, 2017, in his home.

Mr. Cameron was born in Winchester on November 10, 1942, the son of the late Lyle Fenwick Cameron, Sr. and Ruth Alma Bly Cameron.

He was a member of Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manassas for over 40 years and served in numerous capacities.

He attended public schools in Manassas and after graduation from Osbourn High School attended Strayer University in Washington, D.C. Mr. Cameron obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond on May 15, 1982. He completed his formal education at Shenandoah University in Winchester earning a Masters degree in Business Administration on May 13, 1990.

Mr. Cameron served in the Virginia Army National Guard at the Manassas Armory for six years and received an honorable discharge at the rank of Staff Sergeant on January 25, 1971.

He was employed by the Bank of Prince William as a manager trainee in June 1969 and spent most of his working career in banking and finance.

Mr. Cameron was a past member of the Manassas Jaycees, Manassas Host Lions Club, Winchester Hiram Masonic Lodge #21, and the Col. John S. Mosby Camp #1237 Sons of Confederate Veterans in Front Royal.

He had an avid interest in aviation and obtained his private pilot license at the Manassas Airport on December 13, 1967, and enjoyed flying for a number of years. In addition, he enjoyed visiting museums on the Mall in Washington, D.C. and attending productions at the National and Warner Theatres and the Kennedy Center.

Surviving are one sister Cheryl Lynn Cameron of Manassas; one brother John Luther Cameron of Raphine; four nieces; two nephews; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 8, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethel Lutheran Evangelical Church, 8712 Plantation Lane, Manassas. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Strasburg.
