Melvin Bingham passed away peacefully on December 3, 2015 at Heritage Hall Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Front Royal, VA.
A home going celebration will be held on Saturday, December 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Morris Community Cemetery in Hume, VA.
Melvin was born March 3, 1938 in Markham, VA to the late Rebecca Bingham Baltimore and was the stepson of the late Paul Baltimore, Sr. Melvin attended school in Fauquier County, VA. He relocated to New York City at an early age. He was employed at Doubleday Bookstore as a clerk. Melvin married the late Inese S. Sesler in December 1972. Melvin enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are his sons Milton Bingham and Melvin Bingham, Jr.; stepons, James Stokes, Aaron Rich, Ulysses Jones, Eddie Jones, and Harvey Jones; two sisters Gloria Jean Carter, Bettyann Smith (Anthony) ; two brothers, Paul Baltimore, Jr. and Clarence Baltimore (Betty); and aunt, Alice Ewell; granddaughter Kayla McKenney: sister-in-law, Everlena Dunlap; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. Along with his parents and wife, Melvin was preceded in death by his daughter Cherie Bingham; and a son Mervin Bingham.
