O’Neal Smith Foglesong, 93, of Bentonville, formerly of Front Royal, went to be with the Lord and loved ones on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, in the Winchester Medical Center. She was a resident of Hidden Springs Senior Living for a number of years.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Front Royal United Methodist Church conducted by The Rev. Alan Combs. Burial will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Front Royal.
Mrs. Foglesong was born July 15, 1923, in Front Royal, daughter of Arthur Rixie and Lina Soules Smith. She was a member of the Front Royal United Methodist Church for 75 years and a longtime greeter. She was a member of the Warren County High School Class of 1941. Mrs. Foglesong enjoyed playing bridge, dancing, and taking care of her home. She was married to the late Stewart W. Foglesong.
Surviving are her daughter Sherry von Oeyen of Staunton and her husband Robert; two sisters Jeannette Brent and Joan Ascencio; three grandchildren Jessica Foglesong, Barry Stewart Foglesong, and Hannah Altman and her husband Scott; a special niece Lorraine Hultquist; a special daughter-in-law Donna McInturff; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by two sons Barry S. Foglesong and Wayne R. Foglesong.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home as well as an hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
