Patricia Ann “Pat” Poe Miller

Pataricia MillerPatricia Ann “Pat” Poe Miller passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2016 at her home.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Normoyle officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Miller, daughter of William R. and Ruby D. Poe, was born September 22, 1937 in Glen Echo, Warren County.

She attended Browntown Elementary School and graduated from Warren County High School.

She was a member of Browntown Baptist Church.

After graduation, Mrs. Miller moved to Arlington and began working for the Department of Justice.

After the birth of her first child, she became a stay at home mother to raise her three children. when they reached school-age, she volunteered in the Arlington County Public Schools and was later employed by that school system.

She later returned to the Federal Government and completed her 26 years serving with the Department of Transportation.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Miller; two sisters, Doris Jean Poe and Laura Rebecca Poe; and one brother, Kenneth A. Poe.

She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Ann Miller of Browntown and Laura Miller Mangum of Alexandria; one son, Christopher R. Miller (Lisa); four grandchildren, Jessica Marshall, Rae Anne and Rachel Mangum of Alexandria, and Charles (C.J.) Miller of Browntown; two sisters, Alice Poe Grumbly and Gail Poe Miller of Browntown;; and three brothers, George W. Poe of Front Royal, Robert D. Poe of Browntown, and Edgar A. Poe of Luray.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Jeffrey Poe, Michael Poe, Timothy Poe, Eric Poe, Mark Poe, Frank Aiello, Billy Poe, and Paul Miller.

Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces, Cynthia Trail, Dawn Chapman, Monica Poe, Amy Proffitt, Molly Lockhart, Angela Buracker, Meredith Stimson, Caroline Tomechko, Shannon Poe, Candace Poe, and Ashley Poe.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home.
