Richard William Thomas, 80, of Front Royal, Virginia went to be with his Lord and Savior “John 3:16” on Monday, September 23, 2024 at his home with his family by his side.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 11 AM at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 200 West Prospect Street, Front Royal with the Rev. Dan Ellis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal.
Mr. Thomas was born on February 11, 1944 in Front Royal, Virgina to the late Stanley and Ethel Harrison Thomas. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Dottie Thomas. He was a retired licensed land surveyor and was a member of Marlow Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Susan Farrar Thomas; son, Ross Thomas (Shannon); daughter, Jennifer VanArnam (Jeff) and seven grandchildren, Eliza, Mayzie, Bella, Marykate, Kaya, Reid and Julianne.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Winchester, Virginia 22601 or to the Humane Society of Warren County, 1245 Progress Drive, Front Royal, Virginia 22630.
