Robert “Bobby” Phillip Watson

Robert “Bobby” Phillip Watson, 35, of Winchester, VA passed away on January 1st, 2022 at Winchester Medical Center.

Bobby was born May 23rd, 1986 in Framingham, MA. He was a 2004 graduate of Warren County High School and was a dedicated pharmacy technician at Lester and Mowery’s Pharmacy and, later, at Family Pharmacy.

He is survived by his parents Robert and Debra (Desroches) Watson and his sister, Bethany Rolen, and her husband Michael Rolen. In addition, he is survived by his grandparents, Robert and Joan Watson, and Beverly Desroches. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Henry Desroches.

Bobby was an avid griller who was happy to transport his grill or smoker all over to cook for his friends and family. He was also a lifelong Boston sports fan who was rarely spotted without his beloved (old) Red Sox hat. He was even dubbed “Boston Bob” by friends at his favorite hangout.

Bobby was a generous friend and someone who never met a stranger. He was fiercely loyal and protective of those he loved. He always rooted for the underdog. Maybe that’s why he also cheered for the Washington Football Team.

Bobby was always quick with a sarcastic or witty comment and a booming laugh that will be missed by family, friends, and his BDubs crew.

He was a lover of animals: dogs, cats, and even horses (but not Jamison). In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made in his name to the Humane Society of Warren County. There will be a celebration of life in Virginia, as well as in Maine, at a later date.

Beautiful tribute to a wonderful guy who could always make me laugh and could really tell an amazing story. We will all miss you more than you could ever imagine, Bobby. Now who am I supposed to tease about the Andy Capp hot fries and candy heist?! Kidding aside – you were a kind, generous, witty guy and the Donahue’s have truly always thought of you as extended family. We and the rest of the world have lost a very special person. We miss you so much already and love you, Bobby ❤️

Although your ears won’t hear that hearty laughter or witty charm (this side of heaven), your hearts surely will. I pray it sustains and comforts you until you meet him again.

Merciful God, I pray You cover this family in the peace that can only come from You. May they see Bobby in the rising sun and feel him in the gentle breeze. 35 years is not enough, but we thank You for the blessing he was to his loved ones. Amen.

Thinking about the entire family. Rest in power Bobby. I have so many memories of growing up with Bobby. I’ll always cherish our days at the bowling alley as adults — not caring that Daniel and Alan always beat us. It didn’t really matter that we always lost. We had a great time. His laugh and contagious smile will not be forgotten.
