Roxie Lee Foster, 75, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Warren Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will take place at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W Main St. Front Royal with Sammy Cambell officiating. Her family invites guest to visit starting one hour prior to the service. Her burial will take place at Ninevah Presbyterian Church Cemetery following all services.
Mrs. Foster was born on April 19, 1948 in Front Royal, to the late Elton McKinley Welch and Fannie Haun Welch. She is also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Surviving Roxie are her son, Gerald McKinley Welch; her niece that she thought of as a sister, Edith D. Orndorff; her other niece and three nephews; her two great nephews that she thought of as her grandbabies, Ethan and Brandon Mulligan; and several other great nieces and nephews.
Roxie, Margaret, and Edith were always viewed as the three musketeers. They were always at each other’s sides through thick and thin. To Roxie, Edith was like another sister to her and the feeling was mutual. Edith thought of Roxie as her only sister until her 26th birthday when her mother finally gave her a biological sister, but Roxie and Edith’s bond was always closer to them than actual family.
I knew Roxie from Avtex. She was a very sweet and funny lady. My prayers and condolences for her family.
