Sterling Long Ammons, 92, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at his home.
A graveside service will be held on August 12, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. in Panorama Memorial Gardens, 4917 Strasburg Road, Front Royal with The Reverend Ken Patrick officiating.
Mr. Ammons was born on August 8, 1931 in Post, Texas to the late James Ammons and Mary Elizabeth Daniel Dean Ammons Justice Pierce.
He was a Korean War veteran, one of the “Frozen Chosen”, with the United States Army. He previously owned Ammons’ Musicland with his wife. He was an active member of the community, a volunteer firefighter and EMT, and devoted member of local clubs.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beverly Joice McLaughlin Ammons; eight brothers and sisters; a daughter, Lynda Seal Krobath; and a grandson, Adam Seal.
Survivors include three children; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He was beloved and will be missed.
