William “Woody” Polk, 86, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Heritage Hall in Front Royal.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal with burial to follow in Marshall Cemetery.
Woody was born on June 27, 1930 in Strasburg, Virginia to the late Raymond Polk and Elizabeth Lam.
He was a horse jockey and traveled all over the country for horse races. He was also a television repairman and a lifetime member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Shelby Polk; three sons, William Polk Jr., Richard Polk and Jeff Polk; three brothers, Ray Polk, Jerry Polk and Richard Lam; four sisters, Janet Sturgeon, Marie Cline, Millie Funkhouser and Dorothy Sites; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
