Ira Daniel Neff, Sr., 81, of Front Royal, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2014, in the Heritage Hall Health Care.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 23, at 1:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Denise Bates. Interment will follow in the Panorama Memorial Gardens at Waterlick.

Mr. Neff was born on August 10, 1923, in Loudoun County, son of the late Leonard Lee Neff and Minnie V. Legg Neff. He was a member of the Front Royal United Methodist Church since 1972. Mr. Neff retired from George Mason University as a plumber.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 59 years Frances Louise Smith Neff; one son Ira “Danny’ Neff, Jr. of Manassas and his wife Rhonda; three sisters Bonnie Chardwell of Warrenton, Sally Waugh of Wisconsin, and Janice Yowell of Florida; two grandchildren Devan Ford and Angee Ford; and one great-grandchild Lainey “Turtle” Ford.

 

Pallbearers will be Randy DeNeal, Jerry Yowell, David Robinson, Randall Witherspoon, Jimmy Yowell, Roger Knowles, Robert Smith, Jr., and Johnny Smith.

 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
