I knew Phil for only a short time. We met at his brothers home and I was there to help submit a claim for
VA benefits. I got to talking to Phil and found out that he was stricken by the same terrible colon cancer as his brother. I am a retired Navy MCPO and I volunteer as a Service Officer for the DAV. We help veterans and widows with filing disability claims. I found this calling of bringing two brothers together, both Army and Vietnam Veterans and with the same deadly disease. I am always humbled when I visit with veterans that are on their way out of this world. All of them are all so strong and ready to hold the hand of Jesus, they seem to know that they are finally on the way to a better place and someday they will join their loved ones again. I thank God for permitting me to meet and talk with Phil and know that he had accepted God way before his sickness. Which only gave him more strength to know a new life will begin again. May God Bless you Phil and thank you for sharing your thoughts with me in your last days. I hope to see you on the other side. Until we meet again. We are brothers brought together forever even in death.
