Artie, I will miss you. That was nick name for Bart throughout all these years. Very sad to see this posting of his passing. He and my father (John Balenger) were fast friends when they met in 1978 Vienna Little League. They remained close friends until he died. Rest in peace Artie.
I used to work with Bart at the Giant grocery store in Ashburn, VA about 20-25 years ago. I was just out of high school and worked the 4pm-12am Saturday shift and would always look forward to Bart working that day. Sometimes he would come in grumpy(as I get older I understand why) but no matter what he would always make time to talk baseball with me. He was one of my favorites while working there and I’ll never forget him. Bart, I visited every MLB stadium and thought of you after completing my journey. Rest in paradise my friend.
