Bruce Norman Showman, 71, of Strasburg, Virginia passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026 in the comfort of his home.

Services will take place at a later date.

Bruce was born on June 11, 1954 in Harrisonburg, Virginia to the late Beverly Francis and Shirley Jean Moore Showman. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Beverly Francis Showman Jr. and Kenneth Franklin Showman.

Surviving Bruce are his loving children, David Bowman, Christopher Bowman, Nicole Lyons, and Amanda Showman; his brother, Roger Showman; his 6 grandchildren; and his 8 great- grandchildren.

Bruce was a truck driver for many years, and he received a plaque in recognition for driving one million miles without having an accident. After he retired, he took to rescuing animals and caring for them. He mainly took in cats, but generally enjoyed the company of the animals that he rescued. More than anything, he was a dedicated father and grandfather, and loved spending time with his family.
