Donald Wayne Powell, 84, of Winchester, Virginia passed away on March 6, 2026 in the comfort of his home.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W Main Street, Front Royal, Virginia 22630 with Jay Ahlemann officiating. The family invites guests to visit one hour prior to the service. Following all services the burial will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Donald was born on February 20, 1942 in Narrows, Virginia to the late Joseph and Madeline Brown Powell.
Surviving Donald is his loving wife of 18 years, Joyce Ellen Meadows Powell; his son, Darren Joseph Powell; his daughter, Dina Leigh Alley; his step-daughter, Kathleen E. Bloxom; his grandchildren, Garrett Powell, Madeline Powell Sudduth, Joseph Lewis, William Bloxom, and Rebekah Edge; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Donald was a veteran of the United States Army and served as a medic. He then worked at J.W. Burress until he retired. He enjoyed going to Restoration Fellowship Church in Strasburg before he became too sick to make the trip.

Don has always been a true friend and co worker. His knowledge and generosity will be missed by many.
He leaves a wealth of memories in which we all can relate too.
