Mr. Billy Howle, 78, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Conway Medical Center in Conway, South Carolina.
Funeral services will be held at Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal, VA on Friday, April 8, at 12:00 p.m. with Sammy Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Masonic Cemetery in Washington, VA.
Mr. Howle was born on September 6, 1937, in Conway he was the son of the late David Coker Howle and the late Lizzie Porter Howle. Billy was a 1954 graduate of Conway High School and received an Associates Degree from Anne Arundel Community College; Billy also attended the University of Maryland. He served six years in the United States Air Force before beginning his civilian career at the Department of Defense in Fort Meade, MD, retiring after 38 years of service. Billy was a member of First United Methodist Church of Conway.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Sue Slaughter Howle of Conway; his son, Jeffrey Howle (Sharon) of Millersville, MD; his daughter, Victoria Howle (Kevin Long) of Lubbock, TX; his grandchildren, Devin Howle DeLange (Steef), Grace Howle, Russell Long Howle, and Charlotte Long Howle; his brother, James “Jimmy” Howle (Phyllis); his nieces, Lisa Bledsoe, Cindy Looby, Stefanie Redwine, and their families, all from Amarillo, TX; and many other beloved family members.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 8, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, is serving the family. Local arrangements are being handled by Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal, VA.
