Maedine Rexrode Gardiol, 86, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016, in the Warren Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 8, at 4:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Clegg and Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Gardiol was born on February 22, 1930, In Brandywine, West Virginia, daughter of the late Lon D. Rexrode and Mary Hazel Hedrick Rexrode. She retired from Boeing. She was very active in the Front Royal Fire Department and ladies Auxiliary and an extremely talented artist. Mrs. Gardiol was married to the late Pierre Bower Gardiol.

Surviving are a son, John O. Kaufman, Jr. of Front Royal; one daughter, Mary E. Kibler of Front Royal; one sister, Shelby R. Bible of Franklin, West Virginia; five grandchildren, David Wade Kaufman, Jonathan Floyd Kaufman, Crystal Funk, Rhonda Thompsen, and Jason Kibler; nine great-grandchildren, Peyton, Brady, Corey, Colby, Nathan, Taylor, Autumn, Winter, and Summer; great-great-granddaughter, Mila and her faithful companion Molly.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, David Kaufman, Jonathan Kaufman, Jason Kibler, Corey North, Colby North, and Nathan Thompsen.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 8 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
