Cody LoydCody Allen Loyd, 19, of Front Royal, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2015, in the Warren Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 20, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal conducted by Rev. Nick Horton and Rev. Chad Brannon.

Cody was born on May 27, 1996 in Winchester, son of Kyle Loyd, Sr. and Della Loyd of Front Royal. Cody was a Warren County High School graduate of the Class of 2014, played little league baseball and high school football. He worked for the family business, Two Fat Butchers, and ran his own BBQ smoker during the summer weekends. Cody enjoyed cooking, hunting, fishing and riding ATVs.

Cody is survived along with his parents by his large family who loved him dearly and who live near and far; maternal grandparents Frank and Helen Keller; paternal grandparents Arvie and Betty Loyd; his brother Stacy Loyd, Jr.; sister Casey Loyd; nephew Samuel Allison; his girlfriend Heather Woodward, whom he loved with all his heart; aunts, uncles, and cousins who will always have Cody in their hearts, Arvie Glenn and Dianna Ingram of TN, Marcie and Dallas Leist of TX, Joanne and Bill Platt of VA, Barry and Deadra Loyd of VA, Robert and Peggy Loyd of PA, Betty Mummert of IN, Michael Keller of PA, George and Julie Keller of PA and Rose Keller of VA.

Cody loved his family. He will always be in our hearts, along with those who will now keep him company during the time we are apart, aunt Lisa Smith; uncle Tim Mummert; cousins Christina Platt, Logan Smith, Chris Mummert, and many more to tell tales of his adventure and share smiles.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made at BB&T to Two Fat Butchers, in memory of Cody Loyd. The donations will go toward honoring Cody’s kind hearted nature by helping needy families and starting a scholarship in Cody’s name.
