Damon Spencer Padgett, 47, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at his home.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 3 to 5 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal, Virginia. Please bring stories to share for remembrances at 4 PM.
Damon was born on October 28, 1978 in Front Royal. He was an avid marksman, outdoorsman and weapon collector with a true love of nature. He was a craftsman, enjoyed landscaping and making beautiful outdoor spaces. Some of the best words to describe him include stubborn, strong, goofy, smart, funny and charismatic. Damon would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He had a big, helpful heart and deeply cared for his family, friends and community.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Kathryn and Greg Rice; Father, John Padgett (Tricia); son, Tyler Padgett (Mairel); two daughters, Nyla Pearson (Dakota) and Sophia Padgett; brother, Jason Padgett; three sisters, Kathryn Padgett, Joyce Goodman (Brian) and Nina “Lynn” Goss (Will); two grandchildren, Kai Pearson and Aleia Pearson and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Knox Pearson.

I remember us always conning you to pick us up from the youth center dances so we could go to the older teenage parties lol Im going to miss you old friend! Kevs really broke up about losing you! So saddened to hear the passing of Beautiful Damon. I haven’t seen him in years but he would always cross my mind thinking of all the childhood memories we had together. A beautiful person inside and out. We’ve known each other since the AS Rhodes days. He was a bright light -And will be truly missed. Sending so much love to all the family., especially Jason. May the Lord heal this deep wound.
