Donald Wayne Carter, Sr.

Donald Wayne Carter, Sr. 70, of Strasburg, Virginia, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021, in the Winchester Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Due to COVID restrictions interment will be private.

Mr. Carter was born February 28, 1950, in Linden, Virginia, son of the late James and Ruth Mauck Carter.

Surviving are three sons Donald Wayne Carter, Jr. and wife Sherry of Palm Bay, Florida, Jonathan Carter and Jeff Carter both of Strasburg; one daughter Penny Simmons and husband David of Wayland, Michigan; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Ann Kerns Carter.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 11 from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.

    Uncle Donald you were my rock my best friend you help raised me you were a father to me you meant the world to me I love you very much and I am going to miss you so bad it hurts to write this. Love to all my cousins and family

    So sorry to hear about Donald he was family to the Powers family. We grew up together. So many beautiful memories, I know he is happy now back with Ann and with my cousin Wanda Lou Powers. Rest my dear friend we love you. I always called you Utt. 😥💔

      My wonderful cousin Donald Wayne. All the great memories of growing up, those silky badminton games, teasing Roger Lee. Love and miss you. I know Ricky was there to greet you when you passed and somewhere y’all are playing baseball and irritating my dad and Uncle James.
