Geraldine E. Corum, 64, of Front Royal, VA, passed on to eternal rest Monday, October 12, 2015 at home with her family.

A Celebration of Life Service/Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 22, at 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main St in Front Royal, VA.

Funeral services are October 23 from11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, 120 West Main St in Front Royal, VA. A Repast reception will follow the funeral service at 12:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge #2382, 4088 Guard Hill Road in Front Royal, VA where five murals she painted in 1979 are on display.

Mrs. Corum is survived by her husband of 31 years, Fred L. Corum of Front Royal, VA and her three children Ginger E. Newman (Charlotte, NC), Victoria A. Newman and Leroy H. Newman of Front Royal, VA. She has seven grandchildren; Harley, Jordan and Ryan Brooks of Ridgely, WVA, LeAndre Borba of Manassas, VA, Quinn Breeden, Alexandre and Samantha Pola of Front Royal,VA. She also has six great-grand children.

Mrs. Corum was born January 14, 1951, in Broad Run, VA. She was the daughter of the late PFC Lincoln John Peters (45th Unit/Korea) and Shirley E. Lambert of Manassas, Va.

She has four siblings, Brenda Thompson, Cathy Lambert, Julia Robinson of Manassas, VA and Danny Stewart of Front Royal, VA. Along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Mrs. Corum graduated from Shepherd Universty in 1979 with a B.A. and retired after 40 years of practicing a successful career in real estate. Her life’s work was dedicated to helping underserved communities with housing and combating homelessness. She had a gift for art and often volunteered her time as an Art teacher and teacher of Religious Education. The happiest moments of her life were spent with her Grandmother, the late, Mary Jane (Mercer) Foulkes, her grandchildren and her beloved pets.
