Jane Dempsey Payne, 89, of Front Royal, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Danny Clegg. Burial will be held at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon, VA at 1:45 p.m.

Mrs. Payne was born February 13, 1926 in Washington, D.C. daughter of the late Arthur L. Dempsey and Viola Havener Dempsey. She worked as a LPN and was a faithful member of Front Royal Baptist Temple.

Surviving are her loving husband of 65 years James Howard Payne of Front Royal; one son John Arthur Payne and wife Beth of Front Royal; one daughter Linda Payne Berry and husband Paul of Manassas Park, VA; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
