Sharon Elaine Athey, 42, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at the Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Danny Clegg. Interment will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Athey was born on May 4, 1973, in Cumberland, Maryland, daughter of Garry and Sharon Elaine Rhodes Legeer of Shepherdstown, West Virginia. She was a CNA with Valley Health for over ten years. She was a loving wife and mother.

Surviving with her parents are her husband William H. Athey, Jr.; two daughters Karena Legeer and Destiny Armstrong both of Front Royal; two step-children William Athey, III and Faith Athey both of Front Royal; her siblings Garry Legeer, Jr. of Cumberland, Maryland, Dottie Delph of Dryden, Virginia, Thomas Legeer of Shepherdstown, West Virginia, Wendy Kenney of Winchester, and Sunshine Tomlinson of Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Pallbearers will be John Cogswell, Aaron Seal, Austin Legeer, Garry Legeer, Jr., Thomas Legeer, and William Athey, III.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
