Joan Haskins Johnson, 63, of Front Royal, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2015 in the Winchester Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 9 at 3:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with The Rev. Robert H. Jones, pastor of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be private.

Mrs. Johnson was born on March 9, 1952 in Washington D.C. daughter of the late John Haskins and Rita Haskins. She retired from the Federal Government. Mrs. Johnson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was married to Nelson Johnson, Sr.

Surviving with her husband are one son Wayne Bennett and wife Erin; one daughter Kristle McCauley and husband David; two step-sons Nelson Johnson, Jr. and wife Karen and Stephen Johnson and wife Kristie; one step-daughter Barbara Dondlelson and husband Mike; eighteen grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 8 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

 

Following the service on Saturday all are welcome to join the family for a time of food and fellowship at the Shenandoah Farms Volunteer Fire Department.
