There will be a service by the Order of the Eastern Star Front Royal Chapter 6 on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home after which the family will receive friends until 8:00 p.m.
Daisy was born September 24, 1915, in Picayune, Mississippi to a political family. Her father was a Southern politician for the Great State of Mississippi for over 20 years. Her mother was a homemaker and mother of 6. Daisy was the 4th child and the backbone of the family. She was a charming, gracious Southern Lady – a true steel magnolia.
She used to assist her father during his political campaigns by writing his speeches. She was bright, well educated and quite accomplished. Daisy had a career as a government auditor and retired to Annandale, VA. Her next career was in real estate. She became a Real Estate Broker and opened her own Real Estate Company. She had a staff and several agents. She sold her business and retired to Linden, Va. where she bought her “big stone house”.
She was a true Southern Lady. “You can take the Girl out of the South, but not the South out of the Girl:. She was active in the Methodist Women, the Linden Methodist Church and the Eastern Star where she achieved Worthy Matron of the Front Royal Chapter during its 75th year! She was an active member of the Eastern Star for over 46 years. Her sister, Golda was also a member and her niece Carol is a member.
She enjoyed volunteering; reading; and community service. She gave back to this world through her contributions and her sense of humor. She was special.
Daisy loved her family and her only daughter, Juanita Besley, with all of her heart. Her grandchildren, David, Patricia and William Besley, were the love of her life. Unfortunately, Juanita and Patricia, passed away, which was very difficult for her.
Daisy is survived by her grandsons David Besley, and William Besley. Her nephews, James N Sexton; William H Case; Robert F Case and Richard Williams, and her niece Carol Ann E Case.
She will be missed deeply and profoundly. She was 99, and she still had the twinkle in her eye and a voice to be reckoned with. We should all be so lucky.
Her goal was to live to be 100. She almost made it! We will have memories of her, which we will treasure and will never be forgotten.
