Naomi Ruth Davis Eaton

Naomi Ruth Davis Eaton, 91, passed away peacefully July 28, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Visitation will be held at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal VA at 10 am August 1, 2026 with a funeral service to follow at 11 am. Interment will be in Panorama Memorial Gardens. Pastors Mark Johnson and James Boyette will officiate.

Naomi was born August 25, 1934 in Rio, WV to Clarence Alden Davis and Mary Edna Frye Davis. Her family moved to Front Royal when she was four years old.

After graduating from Warren County High School in 1952, she worked as a secretary for Old Virginia Packing Company. She married Gary Eaton on October 26, 1953. When he was drafted by the U.S. Army, she joined him at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. While there, she worked for the U.S. government as a secretary.

Upon returning to Front Royal in 1958, she began working as a secretary at E. Wilson Morrison Elementary School, a position she held for 20 years. She also worked as the bookkeeper for Eaton Motor Sales for over 50 years. She later worked at Dominion Health and Fitness as an aquatics aerobics instructor.

Naomi was a founding member of the Buckton Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, communion stewardess, bible school teacher and floral stewardess. Naomi loved her church family dearly and rarely missed a service.

Naomi was an avid gardener and was a member of the Front Royal Garden Club for many years. She enjoyed her weekly lunches with her former Warren County Public Schools co-workers, otherwise known as “The Golden Girls”.

One her favorite things in life was simply looking out her back door at her bird feeders and other wild life that would pass through. Her greatest joy was her family whom she loved unconditionally.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 71 years; her brother, John Davis; and sister, Thelma Wines.

She is survived by her daughter, Gayle Schaeffer (Ritchie); her grandson, Andrew Schaeffer (Casey); great-grandson, Trenton Schaeffer; and many other loved family members.

Pallbearers will be Mike Sargent, Richard Sargent, Raymond Sargent, Trenton Schaeffer, Billy Reynolds and Tim Fitzgerald.

Honorary Pallbearers will John Mcgee, Mike Seekford and Glenn Wood.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Warren County, Blue Ridge Care, and Buckton Presbyterian Church.
