Julia “Judy” Caroline Vaught, 77, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, in her home.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Vaught was born on August 31, 1938 in Riverton, daughter of the late John Wesley Lansberry and Roberta Lee Williams Lansberry.
Mrs. Vaught was a past president and member of the Jaycettes in Front Royal and former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Front Royal Fire and Rescue Company 1. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Front Royal Country Club.
Surviving are a son Frederick Allen Vaught, Jr. and wife Faye of Front Royal; two daughters Stephanie Vaught Bryant and Patricia “Patty” Vaught Brown both of Front Royal; one brother Gary Lansberry and wife Cathy of Front Royal; nine grandchildren Chris Vaught and wife Stephanie of Front Royal, Tara Bryant Bowers and husband Todd of Stephens City, Pam Vaught Ayers of Front Royal, Addie Bryant Jones and husband Thomas of Stephens City, Kyle Bryant and wife Laura of Front Royal, Matt Vaught of Front Royal, Clay Arnold, Jr. of Front Royal, Hannah Vaught Baer and husband Nick of Fauquier County and Heather Vaught of Front Royal; seven great-grandchildren Elaine Vaught, Dalton Ayers, Lucas Vaught, Ella Jones, Colt Baer, Madison Bowers and Spencer Baer.
Mrs. Vaught was married to the late Frederick Allen Vaught, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1997.
Pallbearers will be Chris Vaught, Kyle Bryant, Matt Vaught, Clay Arnold, Jr., Thomas Jones, Todd Bowers, Nick Baer and Frank Bryant. Honorary pallbearers will be the great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 12, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.at the funeral home.
