Linda Ramsey Dodson, 85, of Haymarket, Virginia and formerly of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at The Villa at Suffield Meadows in Warrenton, Virginia.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 2 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal with Pastor Allen Perdue officiating.  Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dodson was born on January 30, 1940 in Rockbridge County, Virginia to the late Otho and Pauline Hays Ramsey.  She was preceded in death by her brother, David Ramsey and sister, Marian Ramsey.

Linda graduated from Warren County High School and worked as a secretary for Schwarzenbach, Huber and Company (the silk mill) in Front Royal before getting married and moving to Northern Virgina.  After spending many years dedicated to raising her children, she returned to work as a bookkeeper at Evergreen Country Club and then as a secretary at Dewberry & Davis.  She worked for Allstate Insurance Company as a Customer Relations Agent for 14 years until her retirement in 2005.  After retiring, she helped take care of her grandchildren who she adored.

Linda lived a life full of love and kindness, always putting others before herself and caring for those around her. She was an excellent cook who shared her love through every meal she made.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Donald Wayne Dodson; son, Jeffrey Wayne Dodson; daughter, Julie Mabe (James); two sisters, Peggy Cooley and Betty Bower (John); sister-in-law, Diane Ramsey; two grandchildren, Nathan Mabe and Elena Mabe and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A reception will be held immediately following the service at the DoubleTree, 111 Hospitality Drive, Front Royal, VA.
