Mary Madeline Smoot, 72, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Woods Cove Assisted Living.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 3 PM at Willis Chapel Cemetery in Huntly, Virginia with the Rev. Jessie Colwell officiating.
Ms. Smoot was born on June 6, 1948 in Huntly, Virginia to the late George Ashby Smoot and Victoria Foster Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Caroline Wagonblatt and Mary Jenkins.
She was a member of Willis Chapel United Methodist Church and worked as a seamstress at Aileen Factory from 1968 to 1994 then as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Woods Cove Assisted Living (Formerly Royal Haven Nursing Home) from 1994 to 2021.
Survivors include her son, William Smoot (Wendy); brother, David Smoot; Sister, Linda Alexander (Phil); two grandchildren, William Smoot Jr. and Chelsea Mikels and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was a second mom to her niece, Shannon Stewart and nephew, David Smoot Jr.
She is also survived by many extended family who she dearly loved at Woods Cove Assisted Living.

I knew Madeline when we were in high school. She was a very sweet and kind person . I send my condolences and prayers to her brother, David, and her sister, Linda, and all of the rest of her family.
