Rita Maria Jurek, 69, of Strasburg, Virginia passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 1 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 120 West Main Street, Front Royal, Virginia with Father Szczetansky officiating. Burial will follow at Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Jurek was born on October 1, 1951 in Oakland, California to Burton H. Stewart Jr. and the late Nora Sheehan Stewart. She retired from the Federal Government as a computer programmer and was a very active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, working in both the soup kitchen and with Perpetual Adoration. She was a veteran of the US Army.

Surviving along with her father are two sons, Barry Jurek (Meredith) of Linden, Virginia and Erik Jurek of Strasburg and brother, John Stewart of Kingwood, Texas.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal.
