Reid Harlon Nicholson passed peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2017 while in the compassionate care of the Veteran’s Affairs Palliative & Hospice Care Unit at the VA Hospital in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Kathleen, sons David Nicholson (Debbie), Arnold ‘Wendei’ Davis (Debbie), grandchildren Kendra Fox (Brian), Trent Nicholson (Amanda), Andrea ‘Andi’ Davis and Malika Howard (Kyle), great-grandchildren Natalie & Alex Nicholson, as well as many other caring family and friends. Reid was a WWII veteran and part of what has been called ‘The Greatest Generation’. He was very active in the Front Royal community, serving as long time President of the Front Royal Credit Union, polling and Election Day volunteer, and member of the American Legion and VFW. After returning from WWII, Reid worked in the engineering department of Avtex Fibers for almost 50 years.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 28 at 12:30 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main St., Front Royal, VA 22630 followed by interment at the Flint Hill Cemetery Flint Hill, VA. Visitation for family and friends will be just prior to the memorial beginning at 11 am.
Reid H. Nicholson, was a dear relative of the Nicholson Family! We shared good times together! We have happy memories that include him and Kathleen, his loving wife.
