Richard “Rich” S. LaFleur, 56, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at his home.
Mr. LaFleur was born on November 13, 1962 in North Adams, Massachusetts to Daniel and Shirley Shaw LaFleur. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was preceded in death by his mother and his sister, Allyn Faye Basel and her husband the late Peter Basel.
Surviving along with his father are his wife, Lorene LaFleur; two sons, Richard Steven LaFleur and his wife Elizabeth and Justin Ryan LaFleur and his wife Dianna; brother, Daniel LaFleur Jr. and his wife Joni and one sister, Haley Ann Meczywor and her husband Fredrick;two nephews Jay Meczywor and Thomas Meczywor.
Rich enjoyed playing host and gave his guests the best. He enjoyed building things working with his hands and “puttsing” around the garage. Working with Appalachia Service Project were some of his most humbling experiences.
If you were to ask him, a good ride on the Harley and a cold Corona with lime were the things we live for.
“I’m Good”- is how he would want to be remembered.

Rich was great to work with on ASP. I am sorry for your loss. I hope the good memories are able to help in times when grief hits you hardest.
Lots of love!
Lisa Eliot
Rich taught me so much as a young man. I enjoyed learning from his experience and his dedication to doing a job right lit a flame in me that I carry to this day.
Oh Richie, I am so sorry to hear of your fathers’ passing. He certainly helped me out with his handyman talents.
I hope you and Justin both have good memories to support you through a difficult time.
David and I admired the way the ASP benefitted from his dedication, and we wanted to let you know. Our deepest sympathies to all who survive Rich, and to say that yes he is “good.”
Rich was a good friend during our time together at Elmendorf AFB in Alaska. He got mad at me one time , but forgave me with that big heart of his. After thinking about all the guys in the Teletype shop , Rich always comes to mind. RIP buddy
