Robin Ann Elkins Bailey was received into heaven on September 28, 2024 at the age of 63.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 13 at 2 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Willis Chapel Cemetery at Huntly. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
Robin was born to Robert Lynwood Elkins and Marie Ann Clark Elkins on July 24, 1961.
Robin was a lifelong resident of Front Royal, Virginia. She graduated from Warren County High School in 1979 and attended Lord Fairfax Community College.
Robin had worked at Warren Memorial Hospital and Lynn Care Center for many years in nursing. Her very first endeavor was babysitting David, Evelyn, Pam, James and John Deavers.
Robin had a love for dachshunds. Her beloved Bridget aka “Fred” was her favorite. She went over the rainbow bridge on March 1, 2017. Donnie and Robin would feed many stray cats as well. Their favorite kitty was Larry.
Robin was devoted to her husband, Donnie. They grew up together in the same neighborhood. They became inseparable and now their souls will remain connected forever in Heaven.
Robin was preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert and Marie Elkins; husband of 28 years, Donald Anthony Bailey; grandparents, Robert R. Elkins and Bertha Strother Elkins; grandparents, Raymond Clark and Anna Frye Clark Dodson; uncles, William “Billy” Elkins, Larry Elkins, Willie Clark and Samuel Mills; aunt, Nancy Clark; mother-in-law, Betty Jane Bailey; father-in-law, Archie Bailey Jr.; sister-in-law, Wanda Bailey; brother-in-law, Terry Lee Wood Sr.; and cousin, Jimmy Clark.
Robin is survived by a sister, Vicky Lynn Wood; brother, Robert A. “Bobby” Elkins and wife Sharon; nephews, Terry Lee Wood Jr. and James “Jimmy” Bailey; niece, Tory Lynn Wood; great-nieces, Taytum Wood and a baby girl on the way; great-nephew, Wesley Wood; aunts, Louise Mills and Shelby Elkins; cousins, Danny Mills, Joyce Mills Myers, Shelby Clark, Ricky Clark, Michael Clark, Chrissy Stanley, Priscilla Jeffries, Robert W. Elkins II, Kenny Strother, and Edna, Eric, Diane, Pam and Wanda Sisk; and brothers-in-law, Daniel Bailey and wife Machelle and Archie Bailey III and wife Geraldine.
The family would also like to recognize Heidi and Jeff Jacobs for their friendship throughout the years.
Pallbearers will be Terry Lee Woods Jr., James “Jimmy” Bailey, Robert “Bobby” Elkins, Daniel “Danny” Bailey, Jeff Jacobs and Danny Mills.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Crawford, Kenneth Strother and Dr. Wayne Seipel.
Robin was one of the sweetest souls to walk this earth. While I hadn’t seen her in many years I know she will be missed by many alone with her family. prayers of peace for you all.
I worked with Robin at Warren memorial hospital and Lynn Care she was very Passioned about her patients and she always had a smile in her face she will be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her and my sympathy to all her family and friends at this very difficult time God Bless
I remember that when my Mother was a resident at Lynn Care, Robin was so kind to her and she was my Mom’s favorite loved her so much. Condolences to her family.
