Sandra A. (Shudic) Rinky

Sandra A. (Shudic) Rinky passed away on October 3, 2025 at the age of 86.

She was born on January 20, 1939 in Wheeling, West Virginia to parents, John and Agnes Shudic.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John J. Rinky; and her three daughters. She was blessed with five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her three sisters.

John and Sandi grew up as neighbors but it wasn’t until Sandy became a certified lab technician working in Columbus, Ohio that they reconnected. She then accompanied her husband overseas for his work with the U.S. Government to Cyprus, Iran, Poland, Philippines, Brazil and India.

Sandi not only worked at the hospital in the Philippines, as needed, but also at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal when they returned to settle down in the states.

She was a member of the Front Royal Business and Professional Women’s Club and worked at Century 21 as a realtor for 20 years, retiring in 1998. She was also a longstanding member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Front Royal.

Viewing will be on Thursday, October 9 from 6-8 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal, Virginia.

On Friday, October 10 at 1:30 p.m. a Funeral Mass will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church, Front Royal, Virginia. She will be buried in the family section of Prospect Hill Cemetery, Front Royal, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or a charity of your choice.

    I am so very sorry to read about Sandra’s death. You were such a loving husband to her. I hope you and your daughters will find solace in each other and continue to celebrate your wonderful family together.

    My love and prayers are with you. She was such a good person and always kind to me. I am sure she touched more people than she realized and made a difference in their lives. She will be missed.
