Virginia Mae Walther Barton Edwards, 76, of Front Royal, Virginia passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at her residence.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 7 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM.

Mrs. Edwards was born on December 19, 1940 in Front Royal to the late Jesse Walther and Virginia Deavers Walther.

She was a graduate of Osborne High School in Manassas, Virginia and the head custodian at Baldwin Elementary School in Manassas City for 26 years.

Survivors include her companion, Simmie Barton, Jr.; three daughters, Violet Pompanio, Debbie Richardson and Mary Lou Blankenship; two sons, Bruce Edward Barton and Ricky Darell Barton; three brothers, Bo Walther, Frankie Walther and William Walther; sister, Judy Jenkins; eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and her dog, Lacey.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Warren County, 1245 Progress Drive, Front Royal, Virginia 22630.
