William Douglas Cain, 76, of Front Royal, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016, in the Winchester Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 26 at 10:30 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will be at 12:00 p.m. at Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas.

Mr. Cain was born on February 14, 1940, in Danville, Virginia, son of the late Rufus Pearl Cain and Ada Louemma Shaw Cain. He owned and operated his own contracting business for many years.

Mr. Cain was married to the late Bernice Vernelle Irby Cain, who preceded him in death in 2004.

Surviving are two daughters Deborah Lawson of Front Royal and Kelly Cain of Boyce; two sons Michael Cain of Leesburg and Kevin Cain of Reston; three grandchildren Christie Lawson, Kimberly Clark, and Jason Cain; four great-grandchildren Sierra Thompson, Carissa Thompson, Ethan Hunt, and Grace Clark.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Cain, Ethan Hunt, Duane Lawson, Donny Roop, Jason Cain, and Gary Clark.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 25, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
