Irene May Jenkins

Irene May Jenkins, 98 of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2026 in Conway, South Carolina.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 3 at 11:00 a.m. in Prospect Hill Cemetery with Sammy Campbell officiating.

Mrs. Jenkins was born May 23, 1928 at home in Bentonville, Virginia, daughter of the late Manley Cletus and Gladys May Ritenour Campbell.

She worked many years for Aileen, Inc in Flint Hill, Virginia as a supervisor.

She will be greatly missed by her loving family.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Lee “Bob” Rector and wife Ellen of Conway, South Carolina and John Wayne Rector and wife Brenda of Front Royal; two grandchildren, Pam Hock of Reno, Nevada and Cody Rector of Stephens City; three great grandsons, Brayden Hock of Idaho, Jared Hock of California and Jacob Rector of Oklahoma and a very special niece, Sheila Showers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, William Rector; second husband, Robert Jenkins; one son, William Thomas Rector; infant daughter, Wanda Lee Rector; two sisters, Grace Atkins and Ruby Rosenberger; two brothers, Russell Campbell and Manley Campbell; a half-brother, William Kenney and grandson, Roger Rector.

Mrs. Jenkins was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

    Irene was such a nice lady. I worked with her at the sewing factory. After that, I would run into her from time to time in a store. Always loved to talk and always had a big smile on her face. She certainly will be missed.
