Linton Tice, Jr.

Mr. Tice was born in Elkton, Md. on January 21, 1930. He was 88 years old when he died on Monday night at Warren Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Linton Tice, Sr. and the late Eulalie A. Tice.

Linton’s family moved to Front Royal, Virginia in the 1930s. After graduation from high school he went to Coyne Electrical School in Chicago. He started his career as an electrician wiring houses that the family built before joining the Air Force in 1950 during the Korean Conflict.

During his military career he was a radar mechanic. After his discharge, Mr. Tice worked many years in electronics and later as a building manager. His last position was a property manager for Jones Lang Wootton in Washington, DC.

In 1959 Linton married and moved to Falls Church, Virginia where he and his wife raised their children. Linton loved family activities like camping, boating and golf. As a husband and father his most proud accomplishment was raising his children. He was a “go-to” guy for the kids, family and for friends. Linton and Betty also traveled later in life. After retiring they moved to Front Royal in 1999.

Surviving are Mr. Tice’s wife of 58 years, Betty L. Tice of Front Royal; daughter Leslie Tice Keith of Centerville, VA; sons Daniel L. Tice of Fairfax, VA and Benjamin D. Tice of Broadway, VA.; five grandchildren; sisters, Pauline Brown, Frances Fravel and Helen Williamson.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Harry E. Tice, Beulah Whited, and Edith North.

Mr. Tice was a member of Rockland Community Church. He was a man of high integrity, honesty and treated everyone with the highest respect.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke Community Clinic or Rockland Community Church both in Front Royal, VA.

A private memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Vince McLaughlin of Rockland Church. Interment will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
