Raymond Lewis “Cubby” Burke, Jr., 68, of Charlottesville, VA, formerly of Front Royal, VA, died on Thursday, September 22, 2016.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 25, at 4:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Joyce Groomes and Pastor Scott Hirano. The family will receive friends following the service until 6:00 p.m.

Cubby was born September 24, 1947 in Winchester, VA, son of the late Raymond Lewis Burke, Sr. and Dorothy Ariana Sencindiver Burke. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was married to the late Bonnie Burke.

Surviving are his daughter Stepanie R. Booker and husband Billy of Roanoke, VA; one brother David William Burke and wife Lynda White of Keswick, VA; and three grandchildren Deja Booker, Deziraye Booker, and Devon Booker.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the compassionate staff at Blue Ridge PACE, Dr. Hall and all the nurses and PCAs at The University of Virginia Medical Center, and Hospice of the Piedmont.
